White Vanity Mirror

White vanity mirrors were originally designed to be used with vanity tables. Some were made to be used in the bedroom and others in the bathroom. Times change and evolve though, as vanity mirrors are now used all over the house, in hall ways and living rooms anywhere they fit and look good. They have squared frames and oval frames, elaborately decorated and simple wooden frames too. Where and how to use them is a matter of taste. I prefer those which represent old styles, oval and round mirrors with elaborate frames made in metal or wood. These are especially useful for tight spots and places where a rectangular or square mirror would not look good.

An example of one of these tight spots could be a small piece of wall besides a door where you know something is missing because the empty wall breaks the harmony in the room, it break the energy flow. A round or oval vanity mirror could do the job nicely if it is not too big. They can be used on a stair case especially when the walls are not to wide or large for another type of decoration. They can also be used inside bathrooms where there is no vanity table, just the sink table.

A large rectangular vanity mirror can be used over a half moon table at the entrance to your house. They can be used almost anywhere in the house especially if they are white because they will match with almost any decoration and wall color. White mirrors look great standing beside a large plant inside the house, the green leaves create an excellent contrast with the white frames. Rectangular mirrors can be used vertically or horizontally, that will depend on the horizon you want to create on the wall, if the other decorations are low and you want the mirror to form part of a general design then you should use the long side horizontally. If you intend the mirror to be the center of attention for the onlooker then you should set it with the long side vertical to the floor so it stands over the rest of the ensemble.

An interesting option that has been developed by the shabby chic crowd is to separate the mirror from the vanity table. This gives them two separate pieces that can be used in different rooms instead of one vanity table with a mirror which does not have many options. A vanity table without a mirror can be used as a hall table or a corner table anywhere. The mirror can also be used in different places when it is alone, it is not a vanity mirror anymore, and it is just a nice mirror.

Before taking your white vanity mirror off from the table, make sure you know what you are doing and that you have a place in mind where you will be using the items. The table and the mirror, once separated, have to be located separately and far away so your visitors can not identify one with the other.
