White Vanity Sets
What girl does not envy the classic white vanity sets she has
seen, and want one for her birthday -to turn her room into a lady’s room? She has seen her mother and older sisters
sit in front of the mirror and put their makeup on and comb their hair. She has been told many times not to sit
there and not to touch the stuff in the drawers or on the vanity table. She has been told innumerable times
that the stuff on there is out of bounds for her and she will get in trouble if she breaks
anything.
Today she is eight years old but in one week she will turn
nine. Check out her room for the available space. Vanity sets can be found in different sizes; in fact you can buy
small sets for girls to use. They are not for play; they are real but designed for small girls. Make sure how much
space she will have after adding the vanity set, remember she will not be sitting there all day every day. After a
while she will use it occasionally to comb her hair or get ready for a party, she will not really play on it
anymore. Enough room should be left for her to play with her dolls and dance and jump around with her friends.
Turning nine years old is a critical moment when they change from playing with dolls into dancing and singing and
wanting to be movie stars. They want to wear their mother’s clothes and use make up too.
The vanity set you will be looking for has at least two drawers
on each side plus the center drawer for her makeup and secret stuff. The middle drawer on vanities usually has a
lock and key. A round or oval mirror should crown the table. Make sure the height of the mirror is not exaggerated
so it will not look out of place in her room. This is a little girl we are talking about so we want the vanity set
to be proportional to her size. A round or oval mirror will look great with a thin white frame around it. Lighting
should not be a big concern but there should be enough light for her to sit at her vanity and easily see herself.
Since she is not very tall, the ceiling light should be enough to shine on the mirror over her
head.
You can buy the white vanity sets with either a chair or a
stool. The stool is nice and looks great, allowing for more room before the vanity but it has no back rest and she
may hurt herself when playing around. The chair will, probably be a better choice as long as it is nothing huge and
uncomfortable. It will be better if it does not have arm rests so she will have a greater movement capability. We
don’t want a simple everyday chair it has to have the same decoration that the vanity table has, because they are a
set. Anyway chose wisely and prepare you to start on the long winding road to her teenage years.
