White Vanity

Every woman would love to have a classic white vanity in her room, with a large mirror and enough background light for her to be able to put makeup on, while sitting down. Vanities are made in different styles and sizes, but the classic models are the ones women often appreciate the most. These are the models that have two or three drawers on each leg and a center drawer for makeup and other belongings.

The vanity’s color must match with the room decoration but white is the traditional color. Classical models were made white with golden trims on the edges to add some color to them. A glass was used on the table to protect and cover the wooden surface and the gold trim. White is still a favorite color today especially among teenage girls and young ladies. It never goes out of fashion, because it is the color of innocence and purity. Not only that but it can easily match any other color in the rainbow.

Vanities are typical made out of materials like wood and iron. The forger iron models are beautiful but they do not have any storage space. It really is a matter of taste though because if you have enough storage room in your closet and bathroom you really won’t need additional space in the vanity. You can often buy some old iron antique pieces in flea markets and out driving in the country. These pieces can be sanded and cleaned to bring back all their original metallic beauty.

If you manage to find one of these and decide to restore it for use in your bed room, after taking off all the rust, use automotive paint on it. Follow the same procedures you would with a car to finish your white vanity - the sealant, the grey base and finally three or four coats of car paint. This will give you a piece of furniture that will last for many years without starching or loosing paint. You will also be able to wax it clean with car wax whenever you want it looking shiny and spotless. A white vanity looks good in any bedroom and allows you to change the decoration and color of your walls whenever you want because white will look great with most decor.

When deciding where to locate your white vanity in the room, do so at night. It is important that you test the light you will have on at night with your vanity. This doesn’t mean that you will only use it at night but during the day you have the assistance of daylight. At night there is only the artificial light. So make sure you, locate it where there is enough light for you to use it comfortably.
